The Process: What to Expect
Navigating Maine’s Subsurface Wastewater Disposal Rules can be complex. We make it simple by following a proven, professional process.
Step 1
Initial Consultation
We start with a conversation (phone or email) to understand your project goals, whether you are building a new home, replacing a failing system, or preparing a property for sale.
Step 2
On-Site Soil Evaluation
I visit the property to perform a “test pit” analysis. We evaluate soil texture, depth to limiting factors (like bedrock or groundwater), and land slope. This determines if the site can support a system and what type is required.
Step 3
Custom Design & Consultation
Based on the soil data and your specific needs (number of bedrooms, site layout, etc.), we design the most efficient and cost-effective system for your land. We’ll discuss the options with you or your contractor to ensure everyone is on the same page.
Step 4
Permitting (The HHE-200 Form)
We provide the completed HHE-200 form, which is the official Maine State document required for your local plumbing inspector to issue a permit. Our designs are thorough and professional, ensuring a smooth approval process.
